Take Control of Your NDIS Journey with Curate Care

From Learning to Earning
We’re With You Every Step

At Curate Care, we’re here to make sure you never miss out on important opportunities within your NDIS plan especially when it comes to education, training, and employment.

Whether you're looking to study, build new skills, or find meaningful work, your NDIS plan may be able to fund a range of supports that help you achieve your goals

What Education and Employment Supports Can the NDIS Fund?

The NDIS can fund disability-related supports that help participants:

  • Start or return to school, TAFE or university

  • Transition into further education or training after leaving school

  • Develop skills to help with learning or finding a job

  • Access and maintain employment

To be covered by the NDIS, the supports must meet the “reasonable and necessary” criteria and relate directly to your disability.

Examples of Funded Supports for Education:

  • Transport to and from school or training

  • Support workers to assist with schoolwork or routines

  • Specialist transition support for school leavers

  • Therapy to build learning capacity or communication skills

  • Assistive technology that helps with study (e.g., modified keyboards, speech-to-text software)

Examples of Funded Supports for Employment:

  • On-the-job support or coaching

  • Help with preparing a resume or learning interview skills

  • Supported employment programs (including School Leaver Employment Supports - SLES)

  • Assistance with transitioning between jobs

  • Transport to and from work

We Help You Navigate What’s Funded and What’s Not

The NDIS can be complex—and knowing what you can and can’t claim under your plan is essential to making the most of your funding.

For example, while the NDIS won’t cover course fees, textbooks, or standard school supplies, it may fund assistive technology, transport to and from school or work, and supports to build independence, communication, or daily living skills. It may also provide access to therapy, job coaching, or skill-building programs that directly support your ability to succeed in learning or employment environments.

At Curate Care, we help you confidently interpret your plan so you don’t miss out on valuable supports. Whether you're pursuing further study, aiming to transition from school to work, or building skills for your current job, we’ll make sure your supports are considered reasonable and necessary, meet NDIS criteria, and are aligned with your goals.

We take the guesswork out of NDIS funding so you can focus on achieving your potential.

Not Sure If You're Eligible for Education or Employment Support?

You're not alone many participants aren’t aware that the NDIS can help with education and employment-related goals. While not every course or job support is covered, the scheme does provide a range of funded supports if they're considered reasonable and necessary and directly related to your disability.

If you're unsure whether your goal or support request is eligible, here’s our advice:

  • Start with your goals – The NDIS is goal-driven. If your plan includes goals around learning new skills, transitioning from school, or finding and keeping a job, there may be capacity-building supports available to help you get there.

  • Check what’s ‘reasonable and necessary’ – Supports must relate to your disability and help improve your independence, social or economic participation. For example, assistive technology for study or on-the-job coaching may be eligible.

  • Speak to your plan manager or support coordinator – That’s where we come in. At Curate Care, we’ll help you understand your current plan, identify gaps or opportunities, and work with you to make updates in your next planning meeting if needed.
