NDIS Update July 2025
Big shifts are coming to the NDIS from July 1, 2025, and we want to ensure you're fully informed and supported through these changes. At Curate Care, we're committed to helping you navigate the system with clarity and confidence, especially when the rules shift.
Here are the key updates from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and what they mean for you.

Changes to Allied Health Professional Travel Claims
What Was: Previously, allied health professionals could claim their full hourly rate for extended travel periods between clients.
What’s New:
From July 1, 2025, providers can claim only up to 30 minutes of travel per trip.
Travel time will be reimbursed at 50% of the hourly support item rate.
Return travel (e.g., between clients or back to the provider’s base) is generally not claimable.
The per-kilometre rate has slightly increased to $1.01/km.
Why This Matters:This is a major shift, especially for therapists who travel for home or community visits. It could influence how some services are delivered, particularly in regional or rural areas. At Curate Care, we are staying on top of how these changes might affect your supports and working with providers to ensure continuity of care.
New Plan Management Funding Release Structure
The Change:If you're starting a new NDIS plan or using plan management for the first time, the NDIA will now release only two months of plan management admin fees upfront.
How It Works:
After the first two months, future funds will be released every two months in advance.
What It Means for You:This is a behind-the-scenes change and won't affect your total plan management budget or our ability to pay your invoices. It simply means your funds will be accessed on a slightly different timeline.
How Curate Care Is Supporting You
For Support Coordination Clients:Ariana, our Support Coordination Leader, and her team are already engaging with allied health providers to understand the full impact of these changes. They can help explore alternative service delivery options (like telehealth) and make sure your plan continues to meet your unique needs.
For Plan Management Clients:Lisa, our Founder and Head of Plan Management, is ensuring our systems are updated and ready to manage the new funding structure seamlessly. You can rest easy knowing our team is here to keep your NDIS finances on track.
